Late Late Show Highlights

Wow, has it really been over a month since I reviewed the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson? That’s criminal.

The pre-opening credit bit was a shameless plug for his book coming out in paperback this week. There, I just saved you three minutes.

Here were my favorite monologue jokes:

It’s a great day for America’s Supreme Court. President Obama just nominated Elena Kagan to be the next Supreme Court Justice. He went against the advice of Joe Biden who wanted Iron Man.

Not a great day for our friends over in Britain. The British Elections were last Thursday, but they still don’t know who’s running the country. They’re calling it a “hung parliament.” You can make your own joke about the hung parliament. I won’t help you erect it.

The whole country is topsy-turvy over there. People are skipping afternoon tea. Some of them have taken to brushing their teeth. No one knows who’s in charge over there. I’m glad here in the U.S. we always know who’s running things: Oprah!

The desk segments were style tips with Tim Gunn and Craig checking the tweets and emails. It was pretty funny:

Russell Crowe was the only couch guest. He stars in the new Robin Hood movie. I have to admit that I’m a Crowe fan. I’ve enjoyed the movies that he has stared in. The interview was fun and I really enjoyed it. Russell was a good sport with all of Craig’s joking around.

Wilco was the musical guest. They were great:

Good show. I give it:
