Late Night Highlights

Here were my favorite monologue jokes from last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

On Saturday Kate Gosselin and one of her daughters ran a 5K race in Pennsylvania. When Kate was asked why her other kids weren’t running she was like, “Crap! The other kids! I’ll be right back!”

That’s right, Kate Gosselin spent the weekend with her daughter running a 5K. Not to be outdone, John Gosselin spent the weekend selling all his possessions for 5k.

On Saturday night Chris Brown sang the national anthem before the Mayweather-Mosley Fight in Vegas. So, just to be clear, the idea of having Chris Brown sing right before a punching contest went all the way up the corporate chain and every person on that chain was like, “Yeah, I don’t see anything weird about that.”

Chris Brown singing the national anthem before a fight…that’s like Michael Vic opening the Westminster Dog Show.

The first desk segment was the return of the game show Wheel of Carpet Samples. I will admit that it had some funny moments, but I think you can be spared watching it.

The second segment was Let Us Play With Your Look. I typically don’t get much out of this piece, but I found this one particular hilarious:

Sarah Silverman was the first couch guest. She is a comedian, among other things, and the star of the Sarah Silverman Program. I really like Sarah. I think she has a gutsy and wicked sense of humor that always entertains me. The interview was funny, and it ended way too soon in my opinion. Here’s a clip:

Joan Rivers was the second couch guest. She is also a comedian, among other things, and the host of How’d You Get So Rich? The interview was good. Here’s a clip:

Corinne Bailey Rae was the musical guest. She was great.

Good show. I give it:
